This erev shabbat (Friday evening) we investigated what it means to test ourselves to see if we are in the faith according to Paul’s advice in 2 Corinthians 13:5.
This past Shabbat (11/17/06) we discussed divine love as it is expressed by Elohim–God’s relationship among the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and how this is a model for loving one another as well as those outside the kingdom.
We are entering the Days of Awe, a time of reflection on the past year and a time to set goals, with the help of the Holy Spirit, for areas of growth in our upcoming year.
The month of September brings us to Rosh Hashanah (the new year) and just ten days later we appear before the King on Yom Kippur to afflict our souls before Him and receive atonement for our sins through the shed blood of Messiah Yeshua.
This past week’s sermon on Erev Shabbat addresses the issue of Teshuvah (repentance) and uses Shabbat as a picture of God’s grace.
